Lagos State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos called on
the wives of junior police personnel to support their partners and encourage them towards
performing their duties effectively.
She stated this while receiving representatives of the Police Wives Association, (the umbrella body for wives of junior personnel in her office recently.
“Junior officers are the first point of contact with the public, they paint the picture of the force. So if you wives show good morals and character in the house, it will help them to be psychologically balanced,” she said.
She added: “As wives of junior police officers, you have a lot of work to do. You have to be
supportive as no man will like to return home from a stressful day only to face a nagging wife.”
SP Badmos enjoined the representatives of PWA to work hard towards achieving the objectives of the Association.
While pledging her support to the members, she also advised them to reach out to the wife of the IGP, Mrs. Ibrahim Idris.
The leader of the group, Mrs. Dupe Adebayo said the visit was to extend their best wishes to the PPRO and foster a stronger relationship, noting that the Association requires the support of the Command to succeed in achieving its goals.
Speaking, Mrs Dupe said: "we appreciate you (the PPRO) for giving us this chance to pay a visit today and to familiarise ourselves with you to ensure a stronger bond.”
The Police Wives Association was inaugurated in 2015 by the immediate past President of
Police Officers Wives Association, Mrs Agharase Arase. The PWA is the umbrella body for
spouses of junior police personnel.
