AFCON: CAF disqualifies Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone have been disqualified from the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying competition, the Confederation of African Football said on Monday.
Football’s world governing body FIFA had suspended the Sierra Leone Football Association in October due to “government interference”.
CAF’s decision means Kenya and Ghana are assured of first and second place in Sierra Leone’s Group F and have therefore booked their place in next year’s finals.
“Sierra Leone is disqualified from the qualifiers and all its matches are annulled,” CAF said in a statement.

Kidnapping: Police arrest 59 suspected kidnappers in Niger State
The
Inspector General of Police, Special Strike Force attached to Operation
Absolute Sanity in Gawu Babaginda, Niger State have arrested seven suspected
kidnapping suspects allegedly responsible for the kidnap of the Vice Chairman
of Abaji Area Council and four others.
The
suspects were arrested on 24th November, 2018 after a gun
battle that lasted over an hour in their hideout at Tunga Maje Forest and have confessed
to the crime.

The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has condemn the allegation made by the All Progressive Congress (APC) leader Asiwaju Tinubu that he left the APC to PDP because of promise of automatic ticket for the Senate.
In a Facebook post he tagged; The Tinubu Rhetoric: My Response, the Senate President said he will not allow him to create a wrong, false and mischievous impression about the reasons for his decision to exit the All Progressives Congress (APC) and present his prejudice as facts for public consumption.

Suspected Kidnappers of Chibok Schools arrested by Police
Police in Borno State has arrested 22 suspected Boko Haram Commanders and Fighters responsible for the kidnap of Chibok girls, suicide attacks, series of bombings and other heinous crimes in the State.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu, the reinvigorated operational strategies of the Force with the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) by IGP Ibrahim Idris to squarely confront and arrest Boko Haram Commanders and fighters paid off this week, as identities of those behind the series of suicide bombings, mass killings of innocent persons and abductions/kidnap of hundreds of schoolgirls, boys and adults in the Northeast were unmasked.
The CP said the IGP after his 5-day operational tour of the Northeast in March 2018, decided to deploy the Force Intelligence Response Team to work in synergy with Commissioners of Police in the affected States.

NDLEA Foils Attempt to Smuggle Drugs, Arrests Suspect
Operatives of National
Drug Law Enforcement Agency [NDLEA] have foiled an attempt to smuggle cannabis
on one of the buses of Edo City Transport Service.
A 40-year-old graduate
of Political Science and suspected member of a notorious cannabis smuggling
cartel was also apprehended by the Agency.
The agency said the
suspect was found with forty-eight blocks of compressed dried weed of cannabis
sativa weighing 37 kilogrammes packed in two bags in the passenger bus.
The drug has an
estimated street value of three hundred and seventy thousand naira [₦370,000].

Court Grant IGP Idris judicial leave to Review Senate’s Order
The Federal High Court Abuja, has granted the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, judicial leave for a review of the order to quash the Senate’s resolution declaring him unfit to hold public office.
The judicial review is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the lawfulness or otherwise of a decision or action made by a public body.
Justice John Tsoho, on Thursday granted the IGP’s prayers as contained in a motion ex parte argued by his counsel, Mr Alex Izinyon, (SAN).
The IGP prayed the court’s order granting him leave to apply for judicial review of a declaration that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the senate, who are the respondents in the suit, acted beyond their powers.

Offa Robbery: Police Invite Senate President Saraki
The Police High Command has invited Senate President Bukola Saraki for questioning over allegations made by suspects surrounding his link to the deadly robbery of a handful of banks in Offa in April.
Police paraded five principal suspects alongside 15 others in Abuja in connection to the Offa robbery.
The suspects in their statements indicted the senate president this according to the Police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood.

APC Reply Obasanjo Special Press Statement
The Buhari administration has issued its first formal response to a blistering attack by former President Olusegun Obasanjo who said the president has failed, and should not to seek re-election in 2019.
In a 13-page public statement Tuesday, Mr. Obasanjo issued a scathing rebuke of Mr. Buhari and his government, accusing him of being incompetent, sectional and sloppy.
The presidency refused to respond to the letter on Tuesday, with a presidential aide managing to dismiss the statement on Wednesday as an “insult”.

Suspect Open up on How He was lured to join Badoo Cult Group
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, yesterday paraded five suspected Badoo cult suspects at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
One of the suspects paraded on Thursday at the Lagos State Police Command, 18-year-old Chibuzor Igwe, says he was tricked into joining Badoo cult, he explained that he had approached one of the alleged leaders of the cult, Obamoyegun Omotayo, for a driving job, but was lured into the gang.
